The Story of Our Company

"Art at the Airports" is a unique concept that was born in 2010, during the height of the financial crash that began in 2008. We launched our first trial in a small airport in Northern Ireland, which had been relatively protected from the financial turmoil until 2010. During our second month of trials, we realized the severity of the economic conditions. We had been so focused on perfecting our model that we hadn't fully grasped the situation outside.

Recognizing the potential of our project to support artists and bring the benefits of art to a wider audience, we decided to temporarily pause "Art at the Airports." We didn't want this valuable opportunity to fail amidst the financial turbulence. Fast forward to the present, and we are excited to relaunch with a greatly improved model.

In the intervening years, our model has evolved significantly. We have transitioned from a physical magazine to a fully digital format, allowing us to offer more pages, provide up-to-date information, and enable easy downloads to any device. Our exhibition hanging system has also been revamped to be less bulky and allow for quick and easy changes, minimizing disruption to travellers during monthly show changes.

Each airport will showcase the work of local artists, providing a fantastic platform for them to reach a broader audience and gain recognition. Our concept originally extended from our gallery, with the goal of reaching a larger audience than we could achieve in the gallery alone. All the artwork displayed is for sale, and prices can be found in our magazine, making it well worth downloading. We are proud to offer exhibition space to artists free of charge and do not take any commission from sales

We hope our inaugural gallery display at Leeds Bradford Airport will receive an enthusiastic response, and we are thrilled with the support given by LBA to us to bring this model to life. Although we are a small team, we have big ambitions. We are looking forward to the success of our airside exhibition at Leeds Bradford Airport, and with that, we plan to grow and expand our vision throughout the UK and beyond.
